I was sat having a cup of tea in my converted garage on the afternoon of 25th of July 2003 when I had an experience I have never been able to figure out. I was not high planing or even thinking of High Realm contacts. I was just sat enjoying a very good cup of tea on a lovely afternoon.
The garage had been converted into a very nice room with a sofa, my favorite chair, the cat's bunk bed. (They loved the top bunk) and a table.
Where the garage door had been we had put in a wall that was two foot of wood on the bottom and the rest of the opening covered with screening with a screen door on the right side of the opening.
It was a very bright and cheerful room. It was also my favorite place to sit with a cup of tea in my favorite chair with my feet up.
The sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. It was lovely and cool in our converted garage. My cats were sprawled out comfortably enjoying my company as much as I enjoyed theirs. I was sat in my favorite chair with my feet up enjoying how cool it was in the garage. Not a thing on my mind. Just completely into enjoying my tea. It was a perfect cup of tea.
As I was sat there I felt and heard a large bird coming from the south. I looked out through the screen wall and saw a shadow of a bird on the ground slowly cross the parking area. I watched it in growing surprise as its shadow moved slowly over the parking area in front of the garage from the south to the north. It was very distinctly a bird. It moved its wings. It felt like a bird. It smelt like a bird. It sounded like a bird. I knew it was a bird. Only it was the largest shadow of a bird flying over that I had ever seen.
I have had eagles fly above me several times so I have seen large shadows of birds but this was larger than any eagle shadow.
As it flew past the garage I put my tea down and flew out the door of the garage to look at the huge bird flying over. I left my shoes in the garage and was out the door in less than 30 seconds. There was no way I was going to miss seeing a bird that huge.
I thought it was one of the huge birds people see once in awhile. The sky was clear and I had a good view all around. There was no bird in the sky. There were no clouds in the sky. There were no planes in the sky. I rushed all over the property searching the sky for a bird or a plane.
My son came home as I am out searching for a bird. As he was getting out the car door I ran over and ask him if he had seen the bird as he was driving. He had not seen any birds. We both looked all over the sky but nothing at all was seen.
I look around for a while longer but could see nothing in the sky at all. We had unlimited vision for several miles so no bird or airplane could have gone out of sight that fast.
I went back to the parking area and looked at the area the shadow of the bird had covered. I marked the dimensions and measured it. The shadow measured 25 feet across. It is huge. I am absolutely thrilled thinking I had seen the shadow one of the huge birds that are seen once in a while.
I rushed back indoors and emailed the web site that records sightings of the huge birds to see if anyone else had seen the bird. They emailed back and said no one else had seen any huge birds in Oregon.
The next day I am sat out in the garage with another cup of tea and looking out the through the screen thinking about the huge bird I had seen the day before.
I am stunned! I sat frozen in my chair incomplete shock. There was no way I could have seen the bird's shadow on the ground! The two foot high wall blocks the view of the ground.
I sat there trying to understand how I had seen the ground. The bottom two feet of the wall made it impossible to see the ground from where I was sitting. I saw the ground the day before as if it was perfectly natural. I am thinking in complete shock that I would have had to have been sitting two feet in the air to see the bird's shadow on the ground.
I had seen the Shadow of a Spirit Bird, a very huge spirit bird. There was no way I could have seen it only I had seen it. It had done it in such a way I knew it was a spirit bird and not a physical bird. I did not even know how to react. I had just seen the impossible. Numb is the best word to describe the feeling I had.
It was the same feeling of shock I had when I found out there had not been an Old Man working in the bookstore the night I had spent two hours talking to an Old Man.
Out of all my experiences the Shadow of the Spirit Bird and the Old Man who was not there are the only experiences that have shocked me to my core.
The Old Man set me on my life's path but I have yet to find a reason for the experience of the Shadow of the Spirit Bird.
