UFO Residue Stumps APRO

Map showing Salisbury, Massachusetts.
I was an investigator when the Aerial Phenomena Research Organisation (APRO) was very prominent in the UFO investigating business. At that time I lived in Massachusetts and there were several waves of sightings on the North Shore of Mass. Actually, the famous Incident at Exeter, New Hampshire was about five miles from the Mass. border. But this sighting I am about to relate was a very different one then just "lights in the sky." This one was one of the bizarre kind.

I got called very early in the morning to investigate an UFO physical trace case. It seems that this couple in Salisbury, Mass. saw a bright light above their house and it was circling overhead. Then they lost sight of it and went to bed. About 3:00 in the morning they heard noise like a tree falling in their back yard about that time and went to look out the window. There were four trees involved.

If you looked at the trees they formed a diamond shape. Three trees formed a "V" and another was directly opposite from the bottom of the "V"...so the trees were like a diamond shape. They called me at about 7:00 a.m. to come and see the trees. So I did.

Well if you saw this you wouldn't believe it. All four trees were scraped from the inside. All the bark and the branches were broken off and some smaller ones just hanging down. The bark was scraped in a downward manner. The leaves on the ground were burned and there was a strong burning/sulphur smell on all four trees!

I took pictures and put on gloves and filled a sack with the tree scrapings and the ground scrapings that smelled just like the trees.

I took pictures of the trees and the samples of the trees and of the ground. These were put in a plastic bag and then put in a burlap bag and along with a report and the pictures were sent to APRO.

About two weeks later APRO acknowledged they received the package. They called me and asked what I thought of it. I told them that the ground smelled just like the trees and branches and the leaves on the ground were of the same "sulphur" smell. The issue of what did it, where it went and how it disappeared was never proven. APRO and myself could not determine how all four trees could be scrapped downward and the flora and fauna were burned like toast and there was no evidence of any object going upward from the inside of the 4 trees. What ever it was plummeted downward breaking branches and scorching the trees and the ground and then it just disappeared!

I told them also we took rakes and shovels to see if we could kind any metal or foreign substances. We never did. After calling APRO and telling them of this event they asked me to check a compass reading (which I should of in the first place) but since the object came straight down I felt no need to. So I took a compass and the hands went wild.

I asked one of the family to get me a large metal bowl and put it where the ground was torn up. The bowl stuck there as if a magnet was pulling on it. It took two of us to get it off. This was about 2-3 weeks after the event.

I notified APRO by phone. They thanked me and told me to tell the family to stay away from the sight until after some rain came through. But the mystery of this was and is: Where did the physical object that broke branches and scraped trees, causing the tree bark to hang down wards, go to? No one knows. A few months later the couple moved out. I got in touch with the father a couple of months later and asked him why they moved. He would not tell me. APRO listed it as an UNKNOWN.
