This is not to promote myself or Oneida bows. What it is a return to a company that is on the back burner of the archery industry. You do not hear a lot about them But www,bowhunting.net writer and celebrity Ted Nugent is now shooting them and he is thrilled about the performance, durability and power of these lethal weapons. Watch Teds show and see how these bows perform. Frank Addington another prolific writer for www.bowhunting.net speaks highly of Ted and his passion for archery also. Ted has a passion for archery and for helping kids get into the sport.
His passion for his bow also shows up in his taking game with his Oneida bow. Most people have never heard of them but they have been making them since the early 80s. I hunted with them and they were a fine piece of hunting equipment. Their equipment helped me in taking some nice boar, fox and a nice looking Texas dall ram.
I understand Ted and his passion for hunting. Frank and Ted have been over to Iraq, as you know by reading this high quality and informative web site. The passion these two have for hunting, shooting and teaching kids to shoot the bow and guns also are ensuring the future of hunting for years to come.
Watching Ted shoot brought back to memory my Oneida bow and its game getting ability. I had an urge to shoot one again. They are different alright but they look like a recurve in basic design but add the cams inside the bow. With Simms products on the bow in various places I am sure it will help with the ability to deliver an arrow on its deadly mission.
If you watch the TV show, Spirit of The Wild and watch Ted shoot you, then will see the awesome power and silence of the bow and the penetration it produces.
This gave me a thought. I wish I had one again. So with the help of the internet and my 40+ years of selling bows I contacted Onieda. Actually, C.P. Onieda archery. I asked them if they had room on their staff and told them that I was an Onieda shooter in the 80s. I talked with one of the higher ups in the company and he told me to submit a resume. I did and they sent me a shooter form. Now I am on the Onieda shooting staff.
Now how did I get this? 1) because of Franks writing, Teds column and the remembering the quality of the bows they produce . So some times by going back you do move ahead. My thanks to Frank Addington, Teds show, Spirit of the Wild, Bowhunting.net and 40+ years of selling and 50+ years of shooting bows and arrows I am going to be shooting the "sleeper" bow out there, and with new technology you can shoot lower weights and have just as much force as a heavier pound bow.
So thanks Frank, Ted and Rich and the fine folks at Onieda bows for letting me to forward by going back to a bow that I believe in.
