Dr. Ronald Stewart's UFO Encounter by Dr. Ronald Stewart/Scientist and Discoverer
September 18, 2006
On, or about April 24th, 2005 I was coming back home from near Houston, TX, on Hwy 59 South, about 50-60 miles from Wharton, TX. There was a lot of open country and it was a good distance to any town. I was coming home after trying to catch a friend who I was supposed to have a meeting with in Houston, TX, however, I missed him and he could not meet with me until the next day.
The first photo I had taken was of, what at first I thought was just an odd and unusual cloud, which was right at the top of a small hill. This was taken about 5:30 PM in the afternoon. It was very strange, because it appeared to be the only thunderstorm cloud in the sky. It wasn't until I got home, at a later date, when looking more closely at the photo that I knew for certain it was possibly connected to several other photos I took later that same night, which frightened me half to death. I had stopped for just 15-20 seconds to shoot this photo and then I continued on my way. When taking the second photo my car mysteriously stopped. It was if the whole electrical system all of a sudden went dead. Later after the object left I was able to get my car started again.
Here's what happened concerning the next several photos.
It was late at night, about 11:18 PM, at which time I was experimenting with my friend's camera and wanted to get some shots of the night sky. I wanted to experiment and see what my photo process might do in the area of astrophotography. All I wanted to do is try the camera out where there was a clear sky. However, it was cloudy, I had moved into an area of what looked like thunderstorm clouds. A ways from me, I believe it was west of Hwy. 59, I saw some flashes of what seemed like lightning in one particular large dark cloud, which was about 1 to 2 miles off the main road.
I had with me a "Canon" 35 MM camera that had a long-range zoom lens on it. I was going to use a 200 ASA Kodak film, but I wanted to try out a 160 ASA film, which has a smaller grain and would take better photos of the night sky. (Note, a 160 ASA film has smaller grain, which provides for more detail in the picture, but requires a longer exposer time.) I believe the exposure time was set to 1/30 of a second. I had already taken some shots of the sunset earlier, so I only had 7 frames left in the camera.
It was otherwise calm and to my south I could see some stars. However, I saw the dark cloud mass move closer and closer to Hwy 59. Just like before a storm, a crosswind came out of the direction of the cloud mass. When there was lightening a third time it caught my attention and I looked. It seemed kind of a navy-bluish color with a dark cloud mass mixed in with it. The cloud mass was beginning to seem a little odd, because there was a growing bright white light in it that seemed to grow in intensity. At first my impression was, that it was the moon behind the clouds, but I knew it was not the moon when the illumination started growing brighter and brighter.
I would estimate that maybe more then 2 minutes or so went by, which I am not real sure about, when something like this happens it takes away your sense of time and things seemed to slow down. I was driving slowly and eventually pulled to the side of the road and stopped. I thought maybe this was some sort of sudden freak storm, so I was ready to seek out a ditch, or something, for protection. There was no sense of moisture in the air, like you would smell or feel just before it starts to rain. I did not know what this was and frankly I had a lump in my throat, big time, and my heart was beating rapidly, which seemed like a mile a minute. I knew this wasn't the moon, but I wasn't sure if it was a storm or not. I decided at that moment this might be a good camera shot, catching what might be a freak storm on film. I reached for the camera in the back seat and took two shots of something that, I thought, may possibly have never been photographed before. The first photo ended up overexposed and all that it had in it was white light, I tried but I could not do anything with it. However the second photo did come out, as you can see the bright white light in the cloud mass. It was beautiful in a way, but also frightening and quite humbling, yet overwhelming to say the least.
I kept shooting till there was no film left. The remaining photos tell the rest of the story. As the light grew brighter it was not coming straight down, but it appeared that it was coming toward the road at about a 15 to 25 degree angle. Shortly the white light turned to a more pale rose or wine color and then to a bluish-red. It was like a ball with white light emitting from it. Above the light, it appeared as if the object was solid but very dark. The only thing I knew, was what resembled a dark circle around the outside of the light, seemed to be pitch dark and blotted out the clouds and the stars while this was happening.
By this time I was numb all over, at which time the cloud mass seemed to go back up into some other dark surrounding clouds and then disappeared. This is the first time I have ever told anyone about this experience. All I know is I didn't want to be near that area, nor do I ever want to again. There is a need for closure in an experience like this. I have had the photos since then and not long ago I got them out from where I had stored them. It was when I was using the improved photo process on these photos that the evidence started appearing as I originally stated. I have other photos, which seem to show a solid object above it and what possibly appears to be some sort of pictographic writing on it's surface. At that time I had to first deal with the experience I had been through, and frankly I was somewhat scared afterwards to come forward about it, so the best thing I thought to do, would be to think it through. I soon recognized/realized that if I reported this, without further corroboration or evidence, then maybe this would not be taken seriously and just chalked-up as someone with another UFO experience. My thoughts concluded that if I could develop the photography I was working on and to be able to reveal what was in those dark areas, to an certain extent, then I would be able to expose more detail and provide more evidence as to what it was.
The bottom line and point is, I developed my photo process to the point to where it can reveal a lot more detail then could be seen before, which are being able to produce results out of the total dark areas as seen in and around the UFO photo I took. I have also applied this process to other inconclusive UFO photos that have been taken over the years. I have been able to zoom close enough into these photographs to determine what a lot of these objects are.
